In the past few years, XM has made continuous efforts in different parts of the world to turn its corporate social responsibility initiatives into action. The latest such event took place in Indonesia, where the need for environmental protection is critical.

No matter which part of the globe we live in, the environment and the ecosystem have a direct impact on our lives. At XM we are not only aware of this but we also take action to protect these and contribute to environmental sustainability.

Recently, many of the XM team members have engaged in helping to restore some of the Indonesian mangrove forest ecosystem in Marunda, an urban village in North Jakarta, Indonesia. As many as 1,000 mangrove seeds were donated by XM to the local community in Marunda.

By today, some 80% of the Indonesian mangrove forests have undergone serious damage. This, in an environmental context, poses a significant threat to biodiversity and thus to the local communities whose income and living depend on the mangrove forests. To contribute in a meaningful way to the life and well-being of the Marunda community, we united forces with the local people to restore the nearby mangrove forest by planting the seeds together.

By planting trees for the future, we trust that our joint efforts with the dedicated locals of Marunda will change their lives for the better.
