We've recently made a donation to pay for medical supplies and food for the victims of the fire that swept through the Penteli area near Athens in Greece.
Our donation of necessary supplies to the fire victims, including the local communities and animals, has helped them to start their recovery faster and focus on healing from the damaging consequences of the fire while we take care of their basic needs.
The blaze hospitalized at least 34 people, ripped through 6,800 acres of land and took hundreds of firefighters two days to bring it under control. Over 600 residents from nearby Anthousa and Drafi needed to be evacuated from their homes.
In total 54 houses, 5 businesses, 17 warehouses, and 1 religious structure were badly damaged by the fire.
In the days after the Penteli fire, Greece also suffered four more blazes across the country as strong winds and hot weather spread wildfires to other areas and forced hundreds more people to evacuate.
Our donation to the victims of the Penteli fire is part of XM's wide range of social responsibility initiatives to help make the world a better place. We offer our support directly to those in need or to organizations across the globe whose goal is to help or improve the lives of the less fortunate, those in need and to provide equal opportunities to as many people as possible.
