At XM we care about our planet, which is why we were happy to help out in Let's Do It! Nicosia; the first Bicommunal Clean-up within the Walled Old City of Nicosia, Cyprus. On the day, XM were joined by organizations representing both Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot communities of Nicosia: the Home for Cooperation, CyprusInno, Unite Cyprus and the NGO Together Cyprus. Many of these groups are well-known for working towards projects that will bring greater co-operation between Nicosia; the last divided capital of Europe.
Surrounded by Venetian walls dating back to 1567, the old city area of Nicosia is characterized by narrow streets and beautiful architecture. Our volunteers cleaned up the area, following a route covering approximately 4 bastions on each side and ending at the Home for Cooperation.
The Let's do it! World campaign is a global cleanup campaign, dedicated to eliminating rubbish from the natural areas of the world. We are pleased to be supporting this important global volunteer project and would like to thank every volunteer who joined us in protecting the environment.
