Childhood bullying is a major issue, with one in five students in Cyprus affected, as highlighted by a 2023 study. The impact can be severe, affecting emotional well-being, social interactions, and school performance.
Bullying comes in many forms:
Watch for signs like withdrawal, anxiety, or changes in behavior and performance. Cyberbullying may cause children to avoid social media or seem distressed online.
If you suspect a child is being bullied, listen and support them, and seek professional help. The Hope for Children Helpline 1466 is available 24/7 for guidance and support.
