XM has partnered with the UN Refugee charity, UNHCR, in support of their emergency response project that supports and protects unaccompanied refugee children entering Greece.
It is estimated that there are currently more than 5,000 unaccompanied refugee children in Greece from which only 2,225 are in suitable, safe accommodation and receive the appropriate care arrangements.
The UNHCR set up the Emergency Response Mechanism for Unaccompanied children at risk. The core of the mechanism is a 24/7 telephone hotline available in six languages to identify and trace children in need along with the provision of safe accommodation for those reaching out for help or identified as being at risk.
XM has offered support for this important service as part of wide range of social responsibility initiatives with a wider goal of helping to make the world a better place.
